1st June 2019

The month started on a real high with a stunning male Sardinian
Warbler
(Sammetshätta) ringed at Bredmar
mid-morning, the first record for Landsort and only the 10th for
Sweden. We also recaptured our oldest Lesser Whitethroat (Ärtsångare) on record which was
ringed eight years ago – good to see it is still going strong! Migration has
dropped off since the big rush around 19th May, and since then we
have mainly been recording the later migrants as well as increasing numbers of
local breeding birds.
