24th June 2020

24 birds were ringed this morning, including a Swift (Tornseglare), the fifth to be ringed on Landsort (three of the previous four were in 2018). Although Swifts now breed in the nestboxes on the side of the building, it is still very rare to catch this highly aerial species in the mist nets! Also caught was the first Song Thrush (Taltrast) juvenile of the year, two Swallow (Ladusvala) and a House Martin (Hussvala).
