2nd July 2019

A cooler day
all round started off dry but rain started at around 08:00 and continued at
varying intensities all day. At around 09:00 after closing the nets a huge
number of Swifts (Tornseglare) descended to feed, with over a thousand birds
wheeling around the obs, they then disappeared as suddenly as they had arrived
when the cloud lifted. A couple of smaller groups of several hundred also
headed north over the obs later on. Eight birds were ringed before nets were
closed early due to the rain.
