The weather was not suitable to open any nets today. Not much to note for migration during the morning, approximately 35 bofink/chaffinch were seen around the Fågelstation and there were small feeding flocks of Kungsfågel/goldcrest at Jutvik and Saltmar.

A much calmer morning and all the nets were open at the start of the day. Sädesärla/white wagtail and Grönsiska/siskin dominated the vismig going south. Also seen going south over the island during the morning were Trädpiplärka/tree pipit, Ängspiplärka/meadow pipit and a single Skärpiplärka/rock pipit went south on the east coast late morning. A Pilgrimsfalk/Peregrine falcon was going south along the west coast mid morning.

The overnight wind had calmed by the earlier hours of the day and all the nets were open this morning. It was quite busy with subsequent encounters of birds that had been banded before the windy weather over the weekend. The majority of these had gained fat in the time since they had been banded.

Vismig was quieter. Sädesärla/white wagtail were heard but not seen coming out of roost from Bredmar reedbed in the half-light, a flock of Grönsiska/siskin were feeding around the Fågelstation throughout the morning, two Sparvhök/sparrowhawk were hunting around the Fågelstation and an additional five were circling to gain height then went South mid-morning.

The morning started overcast with a strong northerly breeze, remaining quite dull until after dawn. During the morning there was some vismig, going south were four Trädpiplärka/tree pipit, two Ängspiplärka/meadow pipit and three Gulärla/yellow wagtail. There were calls throughout the morning of Större strandpipare/ringed plover going south offshore and six Gluttsnäppa/greenshank went over.

There was a flock of Mindre korsnäbb/common crossbill feeding in the birches on the west coast.

A quiet and still start to the morning quickly changed into a bustle of activity in the bushes around the Fågelstation as the Lövsångare/willow warbler started to move just after 6am. The first Blåhake/bluethroat of the autumn, a juvenile, was ringed.

Highlights during seawatch from the lighthouse were 76 Bläsand/wigeon, 3 Årta/garganey, 3 Gråhakedopping/red-necked grebe and 366 Storskarv/cormorant going southwest.

A Wood Warbler (Grönsångare) was at Södra Udden.
