66 birds were ringed this morning, including the first Yellow-browed Warbler (Tajgasångare) of the year – tentatively aged as a juvenile on the basis of some retained juvenile upper tail coverts. Sadly for today’s visiting birders, the Brown Shrike (Brun törnskata) had seemingly departed and was not seen all day. A Great Grey Shrike (Varfågel) was seen at Saltmar, where a group of Bearded Tits (Skäggmes) were also heard calling, but proved elusive. Two Woodlarks (Trädlärka) flew south and the Siberian Chiffchaff (Sibirisk gransångare), a ringed individual, was still in the village.
