20th October 2018

Nets opened at 0715 in overcast and calm conditions, with wind from the west but veering to east for a time. Cloud gradually cleared to give clear skies by the time the final nets were closed at 1500.

A total of 114 new birds of 22 species including the first Common Snipe (Enkelbeckasin) and Meadow Pipit (Ängspiplärka) of the year and a late Lesser Whitethroat (Ärtsångare).

Måns, Yonas and Einar headed south for migration watching but had very few birds moving over a flat sea. Better luck in the afternoon during a walk north when Måns reported two Crested Tit (Tofsmes) north of Saltmar.

A pleasure to have Fika with Magnus and Måns.

There will be five at the Obs overnight; Chris, Kay, Yonas, Einar and Måns.
